slycat: (Fursuit)
Firstly I got a reply to my email to Sarah Woolley about this "Late Night Live". I basically asked what it was all about, who do you work for, etc... This is the reply:

"Hi Slycat,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I was working from home yesterday, hence the reason for the home e-mail address.

Late Night Live is the working title for a new show for Carlton Midlands, presented by Paul Ross.

The show will feature fun, strange, bizarre and wacky stories/people mainly from the Midlands region but also we are looking for acts, groups across the country to come onto the show.

I think people are more aware of the fursuit culture because of the Eurotrash programme, but is was very much an American angle, I'd really like people to come on the show that are part of the UK fursuit group and talk about their characters.

It would be great if we could chat over the phone and discuss this further, my numbers aer below, or send me an e-mail with a contact number and I can call you.

Thanks again for getting back to me.

Regards
Sarah

To her I will be sending another email. This time, I will just reply saying that "There is no fursuit scene in the UK. Come back in a few years and there might be but there certainly isn't at the moment". They are obviously just going for a more British version of Eurotrash covering the weirdness that is out there but quite frankly I know that furry may be strange to others but I don't want to advertise the fact! I'm quite happy the way things are.

Secondly, I got the email that most furs got. [livejournal.com profile] nomadfox posted it first so you can go read it on his LJ at http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?journal=nomadfox&itemid=67680. When I read this, I wasn't too sure what to think considering I received it so soon after the not so appealing Late Night Live show email. Other furs seem to think that it's a good thing cos it can't be manipulated further than stuff people actually say. Of course, you'd have to be sure that you didn't put your foot in it at any stage but it could otherwise be OK. My problem with this is that I don't want to go on TV. I don't want people to be able to recognise my face and instantly associate it with a show. I will have a think about this one, talk to some other furs and may get back to them.

I really don't know what's going on. It seems that all the TV companies are after a furry story all of a sudden... I wonder what I may get in tomorrows email!

Bleh. Had a bad day at work today. My email box is overflowing with over 100 unreplied messages in there... I'll get in control of it, I always do. I shouldn't let it get to this state though. I guess I have my lack of motivation to blame and also it was bloody hot so I was really tired...

I do love Waterloo tho. Most mornings on my way to work, some company is promoting something at a stand there and usually they promote by handing out free stuff. Recently, I've had free can of a Red Bull copy - Shark Alert, an Alpen breakfast bar, Walls ice creams and today I got handed a free Tropicana Fruit Smoothie. These are full size products too - none of that sample rubbish. I am very impressed when I start y morning with a freebie like this :). It's a really good way to promote stuff too - I wouldn't have normally tried many of those products but now when I need a caffiene boost, I'll have Shark Alert over Red Bull any time. Shame it's not available in many places tho.

Chessington's going better than I ever imagined - now have 17 potentials to come now. I still only have the 12 tickets tho so it's still gonna be first come first served, the rest will need to pay the full £20 (£23 - £3 discount with a rail ticket and a SWTrains voucher). The weather forecast has taken a turn for the worse however - it's now forecast to have showers and a measly 19C... hopefully it won't be much to ruin our day. Some people are planning to come to Chessington instead of coming to the furmeet cos they think it'll be more interesting. I smile :).

Got an application form for a job as Helpdesk Operator at Eastleigh College for a crappy £13k... it's still work so I'm still gonna apply for it. I don't really want the job but I need to move away from London ASAP. I'll probably be able to find another while at this one (If I get it of course).

Um, there was probably something else I wanted to say here but I can't remember and I'm tired... I'm off to bed. Cya!
