Christmas time again
Dec. 25th, 2005 11:11 amMerry christmas to everyone reading this. Specifically thanks to
omega256,
utlah74 and
daktalis who got me cards and
arakinuk for his present :).
I should start with saying what I got. Now, I had asked my parents for money for my holiday so again, I wasn't expecting much. Other than the £100 from the parents, I got an AA Learner Driver Kit (Subtle hint maybe ;) ), some pants, socks, an umbrella, deodorants and chocolates. From my brother, I got the 8" "Mega Gir" I bought when I went to the last fur meet, from Forbidden Planet. My bro paid me for it so he could give it to me as a present which worked out well. Had some trouble fitting him in his doggy suit but fortunately, I found some instructions online. To be honest, he looks better without it on... curse cartoon physics :P.
Thanks to the technology of LiveJournal, I'm able to read back to see what I got for past Christmasses and can compare what I got with this year. Take a look for yourself: 2001, 2002, 2003 & 2004. I sense a meme brewing ;). Compared with previous years, I've done pretty well I think, the money will certainly help as it works out as about $175.
However Christmas isn't all about receiving. I got my bro a Jelly Belly bean dispenser and a bunny thing from the Wallace and Gromit film. Got my Mum a Jamie Oliver book which she was after and also a touch screen Sudoku toy and got my Dad a Bullseye DVD game. My brother seemed quite pleased with his presents, as was my Mum. However again Dad wasn't overly fussed by his present... but then I never know what to get him.
I've not really felt particularily festive this year. Not too sure why that is, maybe it's from becoming older and more cynical , I dunno. I still like the Christmas ritual even if I'm not a religious person. But then these days, how much does it really have to do with religion any more?
Anyway, we've got a 12lb piece of beef in the oven and grandparents coming over to eat it all soon so I should sign off now. Again, happy christmas! :P

Mm.. that, and distractions like work matters. (In my case, ongoing - need to become familiar with the prototype board, even if I can't talk to it without the JTAG unit, while the others get busy with implementing a preliminary version of the menuing system on the eval board)
12lb? So, you're not going to be underfed this Christmas? ^_^
