Just a brief update to say, for the first time in a while, I really enjoyed myself at the meet today. Can't pin down exactly why I enjoyed it to be honest. I mean I started the day by ripping the 3.5mm plug from my headphones while rushing for a train and also problems with the idiot ticket inspector who couldn't get what I wanted right. Because of what happened to my headphones, coupled with the fact that I had 30mins at Southampton to wait for my connecting train, I popped down to the nearest place I could think of that could sell headphones which was Toys R Us and was able to say hi to
bungle_bear as he had to work rather than go to the meet.
What probably contributed to my feeling of wellbeing was not having to go to the meet solo or with my brother. I went up with
paperkup and his friend who's name I can't remember and we watched
bigbluefox's FC2006 video which I had transcoded for the PSP that morning on the way to London (was a good way to waste 2 hours).
Picked up a few sweets (including refilling on the lovely IceBreaker Fruit Sours which I got while in America) and a can of Raspberry Coke from CyberCandy prior to the meet. The meet itself was very busy compared to normal. There were plenty of people there I enjoy the company of which helped me enjoy myself. Also, thanks to the fact that there were fursuiters going to the Torture Garden event, there were loads (relatively speaking for a LondonFur meet) of fursuiters there. Including
dukefawks who came all the way from Holland to be there today.
After we got booted out of the pub, I ended up being seperated from most of the other furs as they were too indecisive as to what they wanted to do and so
rasetsugalford and I ended up visiting Soho for the quirky Japanese arcade games they have there. Galford camped it up on a free game of Para Para (and formed a rather large crowd outside the arcade from people watching) before we went to Las Vegas for a bit of DDR and Percussion Master! :) Was nice to be able to chat with Galford on a one to one basis as you rarely get the oppertunity to do that with people at fur meets (I guess that's why I always liked staying over at Glis' after meets back in the good old days).
After that, we met up with the others at Namco before I had to get the last train home (leaving at 9pm). I didn't get home until around 11.50pm thanks to engineering works... I know I said this update would be brief and I guess I lied. I really enjoyed myself at the meet and I will be popping down for the next one too.
