For those who want to skip my blab about the rest of my time on holiday, the photos are now all online at http://www.furmeets.co.uk/gallery/index.php?cat=14
I returned back home around 4pm yesterday after a pretty smooth journey home. It was pretty much a case of from the plane, jump on to the coach to Southampton and at Southampton, jump into Mum's car to get home. Only slight problem with the trip home was that the airport security people had inspected my baggage which was checked in. So when I got my bag at the other end, I found an "alarmed" sticker on the side and the contents all rearranged inside after all the time I spent in making sure it was nicely packed. As a result the FC2005 DVD box was cracked and there was also a chip out of another DVD I bought.
Ah well, to follow on from my previous post, I still hadn't got my appetite back but was on my feet which was an improvement on the Saturday. I spent time mostly socialising before checking out the Comedy Hour and later the Furry Night Live show. Furry Night Live was quite good, with some acts better than others. The show ended with a raffle held by
th_squirrel where he was handing out Spirit horse plushies and Flare Starfire (
flaredragon) CDs. As a number of people had left by the time of the raffle, there were a lot of winning tickets unclaimed, but that worked in my favour as I was suprised to win one of the CDs myself. However the raffle was rather unceremoneously cut short by
diadexxus as it was kinda going on for a long time.
Monday started a bit depressing as people were leaving the con already. I was already wishing I was going home that day too. So to avoid the depression, I went off to California's "Great Mall" with
nomadfox,
klepsydra and
crocosaur which came as a much needed distraction. It also gave me the oppertunity to pick up some black jeans (something quite hard to find in the States for some reason) from Levi's and also a pair of great t-shirts from Hot Topic. After shopping, we came back for the dead dog party which was a great way to send off the con.
We left the next day with
th_squirrel giving us another lift to the airport, so thanks again go to him as it saved us much hassle with public transport.
I plan to do the con again next year, and hopefully I will be able to avoid getting ill. Next time, I expect I'd go to Los Angeles rather than San Francisco pre-con to keep it interesting :). Also, a hire car may well be a good idea as the FC hotel is pretty isolated and I dont want to do Denny's every day for food. I think I shall look into getting a laptop by this time next year too as they come in handy for storing photos and also net use. Let's just hope I'll have a fursuit for next con too...
