I just saw this posted which is announcing the release of an eBoot loader (to load homebrew emulators and the like) which works on version 2.5 of the PSP firmware.  I know this will make [livejournal.com profile] insofox happy as he upgraded during the holiday to 2.5 to play PQ.  The only problem is that it's an exploit in the GTA game, so you need GTA to take advantage.

Just goes to show, as long as Sony put in measures to block the homebrew community, they will hit back with ways to overcome the security.  Every time a new preventitive measure is implimented, every hacker will try to be the first to break it.  To be honest, I'm not too bothered with homebrew these days as I got the console to play commercial games but it's nice to have the ability to play around with it.

I finally opened my copy of GTA that I bought, I've been waiting for this bit of news. I'm fiddling around with it right now, seems to have lots of potential.

Course, it'll drive people mad with the load time.

That reminds me of something I heard back when I was doing work for the Army (not as grand as it sounds, trust me) - "Every time they [the government] make a law, there's always some bastard there to break it."
