Eurofurence 2006
Jan. 29th, 2006 06:48 pmNow with Further Confusion over with, I'm very much in the mood for more conventions. Realistically, I can only really expect to make it to Eurofurence this year as I used 10 of my 20 days holiday allowance for this year already. As Eurofurence only runs from 23rd to 27th, I can get away with just taking the 3 days off work. I've been advised that it's probably best idea to arrive on the 23rd when the con starts and leave on the 27th so I'll be looking to do that.
Only one problem is that for flights, if I want to get the cheap fares, I'd need to find my way to Stanstead and back which looks like it would be a huge problem. However, I can fly from my local airport, Southampton and change at Paris en route to Nuremburg at a cost of £200. Considering it only cost £300 to get to FC, I do consider that a bit steep. If my brother was going to EF, I could nab a ride in his car to Stanstead of course...
I would obviously love to attend AC but it's too close to be able to organise anything, it'd cost a lot and also I don't really have the holidays available to use up. I do plan to go to FC again next year however. That said, there are a lot of cons going on over in North America now and a bit of variety could spice things up a bit. You've got FC in Jan, FWA in Feb, MP in March, Califur and Morphicon in May, AC in June, MFM and Feral! in Sept, Furfright and Howloween in Oct and MFF in November (let me know if I've left any out). Lots of choices!
Anyway, I think I will be going to EF at least, and I expect to just be going for the con itself rather than doing other stuff. It'll be a good place to show off my new fursuit, whever I get it at least.
