Retail therapy
Mar. 11th, 2006 09:37 amSeeing as the Nintendo DS Lite I had preordered from Lik-Sang (who I am now rather pissed off with) had no chance of materialising, I decided to cancel the order and use the money elsewhere.
Last week I bought Tales of Eternia for the PSP, which is so far feeling like a really good RPG. Something I've wanted for the PSP since I got the console. I bought PoPoLoCrois while in the states which is another RPG but it's really failed to keep my attention and so will be looking to sell it.
On Thursday, I bought a new pair of trainers, a pair of black Osiris Merks from Route One as my existing shoes are looking a bit worse for wear. They did arrive yesterday but there was no-one around to sign for them so they'll get re-delivered on Monday.
I've pre-ordered Howl's Moving Castle from Amazon.co.uk as it seems to be the cheapest place in the UK, and I also added Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind to the order so I can get the free delivery. Slowly but surely building up my Ghibli collection. I feel slightly pissed off that they're re-releasing Kiki's Delivery Service, Castle of the Sky, Princess Mononoke, Grave of the Fireflies and Spirited Away to have new numbered DVD covers. I bought Spirited Away for a fiver with the new cover from HMV as my existing copy was R1 anyway. Will need to sell that on eBay or something.
I've also pre-ordered Daxter for the PSP from VideoGamesPlus as I watched the trailer and was instantly convinced. IGN apparantly love it too so should be good. Finally, to end my spending spree, I've also pre-ordered Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast for the PSP, again from Amazon, which is due to come out at the end of the month.
True all that is most likely costing a total more than the DS Lite did but I'd imagine I would have bought at least some of that in addition to the DS (maybe with the exception to some of the PSP games). Anyway, my CC is in a fairly healthy state, and it'll be in an even better once once the £550 which was taken fraudulently from my CC back in december finally gets removed (apparantly it takes up to 6 months to resolve :( )

Date: 2006-03-12 07:10 pm (UTC)Seems to be the season. ^_^ I just picked up a pair of these Teva hiking boots:
At least, i hope I did.. they were sent surface mail internationally, so it'll be over a month before I can hope to see them. :-P
Daxter I may well have to get. That looks like fun! (Even if SCEA is in collusion with Sega to think I don't have a Flash plugin.. ah, let's hear it for User-Agent checking rather than sniffing the actual capabilities of the browser) Cute, too. ^_^ (But what actually is he? Quite lutrine, save for the ears.. 'roo? 'Course, I could cheat and consult the mighty google, but where'd be the fun in that? :)
You still need to budget for the DS, though - Animal Crossing beckons. ^_^ And Metroid Hunter sounds like one that might tickle you, too.
Up to six months to resolve a fraudulent charge? Ye gods. That's pretty bad going. Maybe a letter to the Financial Services Authority or whomever might help? A dose of official scrutiny from a watchdog or an MP can yield expedited results.
