Had a great weekend visiting
arakin and also going to Thorpe Park and meeting up with
yagfox there. As opposed to last time we visited Thorpe Park where we only actually went on 2 rides, we got pretty much all of the rides done this time round. Stealth was as intense as it was before... well maybe even a bit moreso as we were told by a member of staff earlier that Stealth had been breaking down with the train not having enough power to get over the top and rolling back again. However, I can say the ride ran without glitch, and unlike last time I went on the ride (see LJ icon), I actually kept my eyes open during the launch. I was clenching my teeth worse than any Aardman Animations creation in the photo tho :P
The queue for Colossus was pretty damn busy. It was reading 120mins wait by the time we were off the ride, however having good company helps pass the time queuing. Queuing is a British pasttime at least :P. We also got to see the new "extreme" streetstyle stunt show which involved some very skilled breakdancers (I kid ye not :P), BMX riders, inline skaters and a pair of very impressive motorcyclists. The whole show was very "urban" but despite that I quite enjoyed it :).
After the show, I went back with Arakin to his place for Doctor Who which was pretty good, despite me feeling like I was falling asleep during it (not because it was boring, because I was very tired!). What I didn't realise until then was that I had left my keys with Yagfox by accident. I gave them to him when we went on Stealth as he had zipped pockets but I totally forgot to take them back. Hence this involved having to maker the trip over to Yag's today to pick them up :P. Next time I'll probably either stick my stuff in a locker before riding or just not bring stuff with me in the first place.
So anyway, another great theme park weekend. I may well be going again in May as well. My annual pass lets me go to the 3 Tussauds theme parks 52 times in the year, so I might as well make use of it. I really need to get myself to Alton Towers this year though!
