I gave my Xbox 360 a voice following a post from [livejournal.com profile] electricdog, but sadly it's quite unhappy that I don't play with it every day and get loads of gamer points :P

It's all silly really, but amusing all the same :)

You'll walk into the house one day only to find all your other consoles smashed up and that Xbox360 sitting there in the middle lookin' all pristine and innocent!

*fears*

I don't think mine will be happy that I'll be going away for a couple of weeks over Xmas/New Year and not taking my 360 with me. :P

Also, getting gamer points is scarily addictive, given that they're completely arbitrary and valueless. Though maybe that's the idea.

I think gamerpoints are a good way of helping guide you to do things you otherwise wouldn't have done. Although cheap achievements like PGR3's Watch TV thing and the like are kinda annoying. As are Burnout's apparantly elite requirements to get their achievements :P

There's two I've seen which go beyond the realm of 'elite but just about doable' (like some of the PGR3 ones) into 'fucking impossible' territory: 50 points on Gears of War for "Kill 10,000 people in versus ranked match total" and 100 points on Table Tennis for "Achieve the highest TrueSkill rating possible in any Ranked online game mode."
