Sorting Out FC Holiday Stuff
Jan. 1st, 2008 10:12 pmSorted out a number of things I had been procrastinating over in relation to my upcoming holiday. I've secured myself annual multi-trip coverage with Columbus Direct via MoneySupermarket.com for £32 (Which would have been £55 had I gone to Columbus Direct's site directly) so I'm covered for up to £10 million in medical costs for one thing which means it should just cover any US hospital expenses :P
I've also sorted out my coach to and from Heathrow. My flight leaves 11.40am and I need to make sure I get there 4 hours in advance (with this kinda thing I like to be safe rather than sorry). For some reason the coach takes 1hr 45mins to get to Heathrow so I'm going to need to be at the coach station at 5.30am >_<
One finally thing I had been putting off was actually telling AA the address I'll be staying at in America. Turns out I could just do it online as I have done so today by creating an account and adding my flight to my account. Nice to get that sorted out. The site also confirmed my seats which are both aisle seats (with one seat to the left next to the window) with DC power. I'm still not too sure what adapter I'd need to power my laptop via DC power however. Travelling on my own will be a new experience. Hopefully I don't end up sitting next to someone like John Candy's character from Planes, Trains & Automobiles!

Date: 2008-01-02 02:39 am (UTC)If you are going to the USA though, it's always advisable to wear one of these (http://www.surplusandadventure.com/shop/home/police-ballistic-protective-517938.html). I always take a flak jacket when visiting countries where the locals are horribly beweaponed - Middle East, USA, Manchester, etc...
(I may not be being entirely serious in this comment.)
