Gah, just watched the most cringeworthy coverage of a furry storyline in a TV show, this time round, shoehorned into a BBC TV show called Doctors.

Check out the recent post at [livejournal.com profile] furrymedia to find out more, or just go to BBC iPlayer (Sorry, UK residents only) - It's available until Thursday on there.

I wouldn't tell my doctor anything about my private life, let alone the fact that I'm a furry!

Welcome to the weird and implausible world of daytime TV...

I saw a bit of Doctors once. I really couldn't see the point of it.

I told my hairdresser once. She thought it was really cool and actually took more than a "I'm being paid to talk to you" interest in it.

You don't have a very good doctor then!
Mine doesn't know that i'm a furry, but then that is because it has never cropped up. From a mental point of view they need to know everything about you to help you. My counselor knows that i'm a furry and has she is at the same prctice as my doctor he probably has access to the files, i don't know.

Oh dear.

I just watched it with a friend and despite my cringing we were rolling about the place as we took the piss. :)

I've never had a doctor in a stylish leather jacket! :(

Well look on the bright side. They left out the caligula style fursuited room orgie and the drawings of raccoons with tits!

*grins* I quite like Doctors - it's kinda replaced Neighbours for me as the "crap afternoon telly before LazyTown" I sometimes watch on my days off now that my Ozzie soap's been poached by C5.

In all fairness, they covered furry as well as they've covered all their other "random storyline filler" topics; it's an interesting idea to have an older person come out instead of some young thing looking for a cheap thrill. I'll give 'em bonus points for doing something different, though the costume would have been better if it was a full-head. Yes, it's quite cringe-worthy but it's always going to be when it's coming from an old person. I think the furry fandom got off quite lightly, really. I'll take "odd but harmless" over "skunk fucker" anyday, thanks. :)

True but the wife seemed to come round at the end, and the fact that so many people in the village were furry....

True the plotline was kinda cringeworthy but it did depict furs as weird but MOSTLY harmless. Which is no bad thing. Though once again they mistake all furs as suiters. But I think thats generally the norm.

But what is "furry" I think thats why they do fursuiters I mean furry is such a generic term.....

Oh god! XD

That was sooo cringworthy! Fair enough they did portray it in a better light than most, but I have to say that it just seemed so unrealistic first of all and they could have shwn a better suit (I hate those open face things anyway!) and pointed out somewhere that furry != fursuiting.

How popular is this show? (I don't watch dramas at all!)
