Looking back, and looking forward

I was gonna do one of those month by month accounts of last year, but I figured not much happened that was worthy of note. The biggest thing that I did last year of course was get my own flat. I also attended to furry cons in 2 countries. The first one being FC and my stay in Los Angeles which didn't exactly go to plan but I still made some new friends and made the most of the time. The second was EuroFurence which aside from a minor mishap getting there thanks to not being used to German trains, was a great convention.
In 2009 I've already got my holiday to California to look forward to which I think will be brilliant. I'm flying over with friends (as opposed to last year when I flew solo) and I'm revisiting San Francisco which I really enjoyed back in 2006. I'll be with
badgerguy,
durandal2uk who hasn't been to America before and
koebijmoonlight who is American but has never been to California before. I'm also rather fortunate in that I had a bit of extra cash in my December pay packet so I'm not going to have be as tight on cash over there as I was expecting.
Elsewhere, the only other thing I have set in stone for 2009 is attending ConFuzzled in Manchester. At first I was rather weary of attending a UK con, but after all the people praising it last year, it'd be rude to not go this time round. It should be a lot of fun!
One of the things I'd like to do this year is to move flat again. While my current place is well located for shops, transport and internet (close to the exchange), I'd like a more modern flat and with the way the housing market is, I could get one for less than I'm paying rent now. I could break my contract early without being penalised after 6 months in contract (just have to give 2 months notice) so could move around June/July time. I'll see how the housing market is closer to the time.
Anyway, who knows what 2009 will hold, hopefully it'll be a good one despite all the problems with the economy (I think my job's fairly secure so shouldn't be a problem). Heck, maybe I'll even find that special someone this year... here's hoping!
