I got me a new t-shirt today :)

No prizes for anyone who recognises the character as being Dizzy from the 8-bit computer era (I personally had the games on Spectrum) but kudos to those old enough to remember :P. I've pretty much been after a decent Dizzy t-shirt in ages but nowhere has done anything with the character until recently I found this which is quite frankly shit, and isn't using the original sprite which I preferred. So, I took it upon myself to make myself a Dizzy t-shirt and with the help of Spreadshirt and a suitable image, I was able to create the t-shirt seen on the left.

I'm quite pleased with the end result although the image is ever so slightly offset to one side. To be honest it didn't look 100% centred on the web site when I was designing the shirt, however I had used the centre option on the site so had presumed it would be OK. As it's only slight, I'm not going to bother complaining. Because I used the digital-direct printing option, I got the t-shirt made for £14.10 including postage which was pretty good. I ordered it on the Sunday and it was shipped by the Monday which was also rather impressive. However, I didn't realise they ship from Germany so it took 3 days for delivery.

Incidentally, Spreadshirt are the t-shirt printers of choice for the LondonFurs apparel which is how I found them in the first place. It was quite an easy site to use to make the shirt, I just needed to enlarge my image and make sure the background was transparant... which is harder than it sounds when your image is white.

Anyhoo, now I've got the geeky t-shirt I've wanted for so long, and I'll be sure to show it off at the Eurogamer Expo which I'm planning to attend at the end of October :D

Aw, cute kitty! ^_^ Very nice price on the shirt, indeed! I might try making up an SL-derived design suitable for printing.. presumably there are the usual sorts of "very few and all solid colors" restrictions? Maybe something silhouetted, with some monochromatic foreground detail - the Kani's probably pretty easily recognised by now, after all. >chuckle<

Yeah, I got it so cheap due to a simple design and digital-direct printing. Have a go on the site and see how much your design would cost :)

Dizzy was in a series of games. I don't think I ever finished the first one but I did the following 4 (well Treasure Island Dizzy to an extent, I never did find all 100 coins)

Very cool :-)

now I'm tempted to look at making one myself...could go even more old-school with monotype font:

Convention Hall (interior)

You are in a large, noisy room filled with mostly large, noisy people looking at the various stalls and booths set up.

You can see:
- A long-haired geek, wearing 'humorous' attire.

Exits:
- (O)ut
- (A)way

I appreciate it.

Because when I was middle-school aged I pirated every european C64 game that game out.
