OK, what did I do today?

Well I walked down to town and got me haircut which is now all nice and short, then got me some fish and chips and sat in the park to eat them... Got harassed by a cat there who was obviously after my grub :P Ooh, I got me a vanilla 99 in the park too which was nice cos it was the biggest single scoop evah! Only 75p too - bargain :D Walked back home eating my ice cream and collapsed when I got home due to all the walking I did (covered a fair distance). Looked in the job papers and only found one possible and then mooped online a bit.

Left again at 6.25 to get the 6.49 train to Southampton as I was visiting [livejournal.com profile] kashyfox. Walked really fast as it's usually a 30min walk and made it with 5 mins spare :) Got to Kashy's at 7.10 to be greeted by his mum as Kashy was late and wouldn't get back until around 7.30. Watched Simpsons until Kashy arrived, he ate lunch and then we set off to the cinema. We decided to see the 9pm viewing of Reign of Fire. It seems many furs are slating the film due to the fact that you don't see the dragons for long enough. I mean for crying out loud, why would you spend money on a film just to see a special effect? I dunno... Anyways, it was good filmand you did see the dragon more than what the trailer shows you :P. I liked the fact that it was based in England in the near future and it had a reasonably original plot. As Kashy said, the bit where the american guy does a leap of faith into the dragon at the end was a bit cheesy and stuff... I guess that was for the American audiences who don't like films where the Americans aren't the heros :P

Walked back to the train station to find that I had missed the last train so I got the last bus home complete with drunkards who all seem to be friends with one another and carrying stinky kebabs and stuff... bleh. Saw what looked like a couple having sex on a mound of grass by the road... They could have just fallen over or something but it did look a bit suspect :P Finally got home shortly after midnight and wrote this.

Had a reasonably fun day for once - I usually waste my weekends. Hopefully gonna go to London and go places with [livejournal.com profile] hawx but not sure yet.

The reason i 'slate' it before i see it is because of the rest of films braggin about their special effects in films like harry potter (the cool dragony things in that) and Dungeons and Dragons where the special effects werent even used to what they could of been, also the way they use them looks like they just tacked bits on to make it look good and didnt exactly use any of the CG characters enough in the actual plotline.
With the exception of Dragonheart (where the CG dragon is the main feature) most films with brilliant looking CG animals or whatever just feature them for like 5 minutes of screem time and it just feels like youve been cheated.
Also i dunno why they dont do more stuff about mythological beasts cos theres enough films about humans out there and we fucking see humans everyday! Whats so special about humans!? Id much rather see stuff about what people thought creatures of the past got up to in their spare time rather than some crapy love story that youve seen played out a million times in other films already.

:)
