Argh! Dilemma time!

OK, I just found out that my parents had arranged a pub lunch type meal on Saturday in honour of my Mum's 50th birthday. However, on the same day, I'm supposed to be going to London for the fur meet to help celebrate both Glis's and Shinji's birthdays. Now, I couldn't really care for missing a meet as there will always be another one but I regard both Shinji and Glis as good friends and would like to celebrate (Get drunk) with them...

Then on the other hand, what sort of a son would I be if I was unable to attend my Mum's 50th birthday? This is a milestone birthday so I think I owe it to my Mum for all the work she's done for first of all giving birth to me and then putting up with me and looking after me for all these years...

I really don't know what I should do. I want to do both of course but each has their good and bad points...

Yup, I was on a complete guilt trip so I've decided to not go to the meet and go to me Mum's thing. Gotta get here a special prezzie though... any ideas?

Yikes! its Glis's and Shinji's birthdays too?.. much respect to them, their both great people.
My Birthdays on the 21st, same day as the meet ( and its also a full moon :> ) , im kinda doing the pondering if I should go along to the meet or not.

It's purely up to you. Ask youself who do you want to be around on your birthday?

I won't be going to the meet but regardless of whatever you chose to do, I hope you have a fun time doing it :P

Blimey, my mum was 50 this year n' all. Ya, I woulden't miss that,like you said Its a landmark. Like 18 or 21 are landmarks o,o Me n' sis was gonna arrange for our mum to go in a glider. but the weather was too crap for the day o,o

Yeah, I should really have realised it was her birthday sooner to be honest... Not got her a present yet :-/ I'll need to get her something a bit special... not much you can get during your lunch hour at work however.

I don't think my mum would appreciate a flight in a glider myself... She's just come back from a fly-drive holiday through California with Dad so that's probably as much flying as she's be up for a while.

I've decided to not go to the furmeet in favour of me Mum's birthday thingy. I'd just feel plain guilty if I didn't go.
