This morning I got up relatively early and gave my Mum her birthday card. I was going to go to Southampton early but I had received my Death to Smoochy DVD in the mail that morning and so watched that instead. I had come across the film before, probably via the Fursuit list and it looked interesting. It looks like a silly idea for a film but Danny DeVito directed and featured in the film with Robin Williams and Edward Norton playing the lead roles so I thought that if they would be featured in the film, the film can't be as bad as it sounds. Won't say much about the film itself but I think it was really entertaining, comical and sinister. Worth a watch!

After watching the film, my borhter offered to take me to Reading to which I accepted as I hadn't been to Reading before and could get my phone and look for jackets there. So yeah, I got my phone replaced with a 3510 for free with a spare battery and an "emergency charger" which is a thing you can put a 9v battery on to to charge the phone when you are in an emergency. Got some vouchers for Mum from John Lewis (Had offered the option of West End tickets to her but she declined considering she hated the last time she went to London...) and browsed shops. None had a coat I was happy with so we upped and left back for home.

Went out to the pub with family and some friends of the family. Had a really nice 8oz fillet steak followed by a slice of delicious hot chocolate fudge cake smothered with cream. Seemed to get on with Dad's friend's son, Robert, who was 9. Talked about GameBoy Advance and Grand Theft Auto 3. I thought that kids of his age weren't supposed to be playing GTA3 as it was an 18+ game... Turns out that he played it over his friends house and his parent's didn't mind just as long as he didn't decide to steal cars and drive over people.

Later when we got back to my place, I showed Robert my tonnes of GameBoy games and stuff. He was dead chuffed and though I must be rich :P He later somehow managed to get me to show him GTA3 on the PC (Me feeling really guilty about it but not knowing how to say no without disappointing the kid. I figured that when I was a kid I wouldn't have been allowed to see it so I let him play it a bit as I would have appreciated it being that age. It was scary watching a 9 year old play that game. All he wanted to do was to drive over people and "shoot people in the head". He took the most joy in shooting old grannies. HE was such a quiet and polite lad up until then :P Later spoke with his dad about buying my Radeon 8500 clone card. Looks like I may pick up a tidy £70 for that - he's going to check if they have an AGP port first though.

Just as they were leaving, I lent my Tony Hawks 3 for GBA to Robert as he had really enjoyed playing the game and I wasn't playing it. He seemed eternally greatful which made me feel like I had done something good in the world. Now I know why Santa enjoys his job so much... Or something.
