I now know what causes my gut pains and as I suspected, I knew all along. It's almost certainly stress related. I need to re-evaluate my lifestyle and also get more exercise. This is what my doctor told me today but I suspected this was the case - was just making sure it wasn't anything more serious. I really need to get me a job locally... :-/

Was good to get out of the office just before 3pm today so I could get to the doctors. I had to force my way into the train from work because I was just about to miss it (I couldn't run fast enough up the steps to the platform in my tight jeans!) but the doors didn't slam shut properly. I saw the oppertunity and took it, I pushed the doors outwards again allowing me to get on the train before it departed. Naughty I know but had I not done that, I would have probably missed my appointment as all the trains were delayed again...

I got the limited 2 disc edition of Memento in the mail today! It's Region 1 RCE (Will not play on many multi-region players) but works fine on my computer. The case the film came in is possibly one of the most intricate I've seen. It looks like a file for a patient or something and it has little report cards in it and stuff - all very nice. However, the menus are now more confusing than ever. You could probably spend a week trying to find all the hidden stuff on disc 2! My brain hurts from just trying to navigate it...

Hurrah!

Memento is fucking awesome!! It has to be one of the greatest movies ever made!

Good for you for getting the Region 1 2-disk version, much better.

There are only two words to describe that movie:

1.Fucking
and
2.Brilliant

Enjoy navigating the menus. Take notes :P

Unfortunately, the film loses some of it's novelty the more you watch it as you know what's going to happen. It's no longer a case of discovering the story as you already know it so all you can really do is take in the new details and more things that make you go "Aaaah! That's why [x] did [y]..." but even then those get thin on the ground. I had the original UK DVD too and a hidden feature of that DVD was to be able to see a re-edited version of the movie, in chronological order; which makes for a completely different film! Not sure if that feature is in this edition of the film.

I do agree, Memento is a truely magnificent film, one I'm very suprised to see come out of Hollywood... It's more something of an independant movie... in the same sort of category as Pi. I first saw Memento in the cinema when barely anyone knew about it. I think it was around the time that The Matrix came out (Cos I remember noticing that both Carrie-Ann Moss and Joe Pantoliano from The Matrix were in this). It was only being shown once that week, 11.40pm showing on the Friday night. I'm glad that my film student friend dragged me along to see it!

The film is certainly best the first time round... some times, I wish I could remove my memory of the film so I could discover it all over again!
