Got back from work to find a letter awaiting me... However, it turned out to be another "We are sorry that your application has been unsuccessful" letter. I really wonder why I bother trying if I can't even get an interview :o( Hopefully my training will get me out of this hole.. . The people I'm with help you with job applications and stuff so life should get better. I'm so tired of work, today wasn't a particularily bad day. In fact, as days go, it was quite good. However I need something new, something fresh, something challenging, something I actually enjoy! I guess I must be patient. I need these bills paid so I gotta keep working for that.

Last year our company closed down for Christmas from X-mas day through to New Years day. However this year, because one of their services is being discontinued as of 31st Dec, they've decided to drag people in during the period between X-mas and New Years. If they ask me to work a day, I'm gonna ask them to pay for my travel or I won't do it. Incidentally, my month's travel is £300. I'm sure we'll have more news on this soon.

On a less depressing note, since playing You Don't Know Jack with TK at the weekend, I decided to see if there were any new YDKJ games by Jellyvision. There's a 5th one (I have the first 4 American ones) called 5th Dementia which looks fun. They have a flash demo of it online. Also they have some multiplayer online games Smush and Wordspud. Smush is a bit difficult but Wordspud is kinda fun as it doesn't rely on correct answers, just answers other players think are good. This reminds me of another game that Bezerk (The people who did the online version of YDKJ) did called Acrophobia. Unfortunately that fantastic game died a death as it was passed through WON and flipside and got lost somewhere along the way. Was a shame, I loved that game :P Anyway, I suggest you have a go at Wordspud by going to http://www.jellyvision.com and going to the "Game hole".

It's now gone midnight and I get up at 5.55am... bleh. I love commuting 2hrs to work... I really do(!)

Well, on the jobs front - why not change industries. 4000 electrical installers retire every year (approx) and only 2000 train so there is a major skills shortage - the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) industry is screaming for people who can design, install, maintain things and the money can be good - depending on who you work for (or if you choose to go self employed).

If it wasn't for the fact I want to get out of the HVAC industry (I want to aim for something involving creative writing in some form) I'd re-train as an installer and go self employed. It seems like easy money if you're prepared to re-train.

Just an idea..... :o)

Up thanks but that's really something I'd have absolutely no interest in!

Like I say I'm training to become an Internet Solutions Developer so good things will happen when I've got that I expect.
