slycat: (Evil Monkey)
Well it seems that after I attempted to cancel my NTL service back at the start of 2002 following me moving out to London, the remnants of my NTL service were finally cancelled this month.

Basically what happened was I had the TV, Phone and Internet deal with them.  I paid £150 to cancel sometime early 2002 and it appeared they only cancelled the TV and Internet.  so when I returned to living at home, I found my phone was still connected.  Now the phone was free with the TV and Internet and they didn't seem to notice that the TV and Internet were cancelled.  So basically, my NTL phone bill was £1 a month since this time.  The £1 was for caller display, not rental.  However, I wasn't on direct debit and didn't bother paying for a few months.  I got a bill this morning for £5.98 so I though I should probably just pay it.  When I attempted to use my NTL phone to do so, there was no dial tone.  Looks like they disconnected me.  Called up with my mobile and confirmed this.  Paid the outstanding debt, and now I am finally not an NTL customer any more.  I never used the phone anyway, but it was something for nothing.

As a result of looking at my LJ history for when I moved out, I ended up reading old entries from that time. Wish I could have done that differently, I really should have made the most of the situation rather than feeling sorry for myself all the time.
