Didn't exactly go as planned...
Nov. 1st, 2003 11:59 pmWell my plans for tonight didn't really go the way I expected. Turns out that Paul (who's birthday it is on the 2nd) didn't want to go anywhere cos he was with his girlfriend. Jaz never answered his phone and Mike isn;t in the area until tomorrow. So in the end, it was just me and Dom. We couldn't be bothered to go to a pub so we went to the Odeon and I used my 2000 Nectar points so the both of us could see Kill Bill for free. In the local Odeon, the best screens are 1 and 2, the rest are very crappy. Kill Bill was on screen 3.... just as well the tickets were free really.
Was great to see the film again as I enjoyed it much more the second time round. I guess when I first watched it, I was expecing Tarantino classic, gangsters and guns. However this time I knew what to expect and so was more comfortable with it. Chapter One starts off more Tarantinoesque and once the main character goes to Japan, it becomes a martial arts film. Very original in the way that it's done, I just can't wait to see part two and finish the story.
Was a bit of an anti-climax of a birthday again, you always get excited leading up tot he day and then nothing really special happens and you get disappointed. The main problem I found was that I had to organise what to do myself or nothing would happen at all. Some people wished me a happy birthday, I had a nice meal and I went out so it wasn't all bad I suppose :) I must try harder for next year however!
