Just got back from a very nice meal at a local restaurant. Had a nice 10oz sirloin with chips followed by a gorgeous chocolate brownie marbled with vanilla cheesecake. I hope to go back to that place again sometime, very good they were, very filling!

As far as presents go, from my folks, I got £200 off the loan I'm paying off Dad. It's not something physical I could hold but it helped pay for my TFT monitor and it'll help me in the long run. Got £20 from other relatives so far but have only got 3 cards. Suspect the postal strike is the reason for not more arriving. Then again, I usually get lots of extra junk mail on my birthday from places I'd never visit so it's not all bad. My bro got me (I think) F-Zero GX for the GameCube which I'm really excited about, however due to the aforementioned postal strike, it's not arrived yet. He did give me the Simba beanie he got free with his copy of The Lion King DVD in the meantime :)

It's odd being 23, it seems like it's come far too quick. The past few years have just zoomed past. I guess the most likely reason is that I've not had enough variety in my life, no real significant events other than me moving out for a period. However, this year, I will get a new job and then things will start taking a turn for the better.

Should be off to the pub with friends later this evening and I plan to get bladdered :D Laters!

Well my plans for tonight didn't really go the way I expected. Turns out that Paul (who's birthday it is on the 2nd) didn't want to go anywhere cos he was with his girlfriend. Jaz never answered his phone and Mike isn;t in the area until tomorrow. So in the end, it was just me and Dom. We couldn't be bothered to go to a pub so we went to the Odeon and I used my 2000 Nectar points so the both of us could see Kill Bill for free. In the local Odeon, the best screens are 1 and 2, the rest are very crappy. Kill Bill was on screen 3.... just as well the tickets were free really.

Was great to see the film again as I enjoyed it much more the second time round. I guess when I first watched it, I was expecing Tarantino classic, gangsters and guns. However this time I knew what to expect and so was more comfortable with it. Chapter One starts off more Tarantinoesque and once the main character goes to Japan, it becomes a martial arts film. Very original in the way that it's done, I just can't wait to see part two and finish the story.

Was a bit of an anti-climax of a birthday again, you always get excited leading up tot he day and then nothing really special happens and you get disappointed. The main problem I found was that I had to organise what to do myself or nothing would happen at all. Some people wished me a happy birthday, I had a nice meal and I went out so it wasn't all bad I suppose :) I must try harder for next year however!
