What a great day!
Mar. 1st, 2004 10:09 pmWell to keep it brief, I got on really well at my new job, got on with the guys there and the job isn't too taxing. It's mostly 2nd and 3rd level support meaning I never have to deal with the end users, I mostly just deal with emails and the intranet based logging system but I also have to call BT quite often to get them to sort out problems with end users ADSL lines and stuff. I was taken through the systems in the best part of the morning and then I was allowed to try and tackle problems. I impressed the boss by making an observation that the majority of the job is simply telling companies to go back and get the right information because they didn't give us enough to get to the solution. and usually, in doing so, they resolve the problem themselves.
The boss drove me and Luke (the guy who's training me) to the train station after work as it was running late and we'd miss our trains otherwise which was a nice touch. As a result I got home around 6.30pm at least an hour earlier sooner than the time I usually get home! And this was walking home from the station rather than relying on lifts. When I did get home, I was suprised to find that my Kiss DP-100 DVD player had arrived from Amazon! :) My day was just getting better and better.
Had a good old play with the player, it plays everything I throw at it, CDs, DVDs, DivX, MP3s, MPEGs, JPEGs and also CDs which contain a mixed content. My bro, who's a A/V fanatic was quite impressed with the picture quality from the unit so it must be good :). Not bad for £99!
