You know, it's news like this which could convince me to get a Wii. Read the details at: http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/25/sega-gets-around-to-announcing-samba-de-amigo/. I'd also be quite keen on getting NiGHTS and Super Paper Mario too but still not sure if it justifies getting another console.

At the same time I've been contemplating getting a PS3 purely for it's Blu-Ray Disc playing abilities. It seems that Sony might actually win a format war from the way things look, and with Ratatouille only on BD that's me convinced as I need to see Remy and co in 1080p :P. However, there's still not one game on the PS3 which would encourage me to buy it for gaming at the moment, the 360 is still king of the current gen for gaming.

As nice as these thoughts of purchases are, I've gotta save for my holiday in Jan and I've not even considered Christmas...

Just get Beautiful Katamari out on 360 in Europe and I'll soon forget about other consoles again :P.

I'm thinking of eventually getting a 360 for my flat. Or maybe asking for a contribution for Christmas. Wii's are relatively cheap, but I don't see myself getting one.

The PS3 oddly doesn't appear on my radar. I'm holding-fire on the Blu-Ray/HD-DVD debate until there seems a more definite winner - the PS3 holds no interest for me; as I don't care for HD stuff yet, and I'm not interested in any of the games yet or the inflated pricetag. The controllers are crap and uncomfortable, and their complete lack of naming or controller design imagination offends me :P.

The 360 is brilliant as far as consoles go. I've got a lot of life out of my one and I've yet to get bored. The online features make it for me. Not just playing online but the stuff you can download such as demos, trailers and the Live Arcade games.

However as I've a 1080p screen, I'd like to have a way of playing HD movies. While the 360 addon for HD-DVD is cheap at £100 and you also get 5 free HD-DVDs as part of a promotion they have on at the moment, there just doesn't seem to be that many exciting titles coming out for the format so as much as it pains me to say so, it looks like BD will get the crown. To be honest tho, I'd like to just get a combo player and get the best of both worlds but they keep on postponing the releases of such players.
